Beans (Bush Snap) 209"5" x 1' 1"These are your black beans!! Plant in September!
Beans (Pole) 129"5" x 1' 1"Some favorites are 'purple pole' and 'contender' which can both be planted in late August/early September for a harvest until frost.
Blueberry 32' 11"2' 11" x 2' 11"Choose a 'rabbit eye' variety like Premiere. Plant in the fall.
Broccoli 21' 5"1' 5" x 1' 5"'Artwork' broccoli is my favorite variety as it grows broccolini all season long instead of one head. This variety is a must! Plant in September.
Cabbage (Fall) 52' 9"2' 7" x 2' 11"'Cheers' and 'Flat Dutch' are excellent varieties that do well here. Plant in September and plant both to have cabbage all season.
Carrot 433"3" x 5"Carrots should be direct sown in September and can be continually sown all season. Get creative with varieties like 'Rainbow' and 'Purple Haze.' So much fun!
Cauliflower 41' 7"1' 5" x 1' 11"Varieties like 'Cheddar' and 'Graffiti' make great showings for LSU football season. If you want less color, try 'Snow Crown.' Plant in September.
Cilantro 47"5" x 9"Direct sow cilantro to have the best results. Sow seeds in September and grow cilantro all season.
Collards 1311"11" x 1' 3"Collards are easy to grow and 'Georgia Creole' are delicious and do well here. They continue to produce all season so plant once in September and keep enjoying them.
Dill 37"5" x 9"Dill can be planted anytime and will grow all season. Transplant for best success.
Fig 19' 10"9' 10" x 9' 10"LSU Varieties are the best options. Any will do really for you in this space.
Garlic 95"3" x 9"Garlic is easy to grow and should be planted in October/November. Garlic should be ordered from a reputable company online for best results. I like Keene Garlic (I can order for you when I order mine.)
Johnny Jump Up 125"5" x 5"Any fall flower will do well here.
Kale 61' 3"1' 1" x 1' 5"'Lacinato' kale is the most popular variety. It grows well here from September through spring.
Lettuce (Leaf) 233"3" x 5"Have fun with lettuce varieties. Choose colorful lettuce that you will enjoy eating. Leaf lettuce is my favorite because you don't have to wait for it to form a head to enjoy it. Plant in September.
Mizuna 59"7" x 11"This Asian green is spicy and delicious. Plant in September. It is frost tolerant and will grow until the weather heats up.
Mustard 105"5" x 5"I know you don't want to eat it, but 'Giant Red' is stunning in the garden. I would plant it in September for beauty.
Nasturtium 511"11" x 11"Plant this beauty by seed in September.
Onion (Perennial) 65"5" x 5"Green onions are a must in every garden. Plant bulbs from the grocery store in September.
Oregano 17"5" x 9"Oregano should be transplanted in September and grown all season.

Thyme 111"11" x 1' 3"Thyme is excellent in the backyard garden. Plant in September and enjoy it for many seasons.
Turnip 87"5" x 11"Turnips are easy and fun. 'White Lady' is a great variety. Plant in September.
