6/6 Sprayed Neem for whiteflies; peps, toms 6/16 (Rained 0.88" that night) Sprayed Neem for whiteflies on all peps, toms, cukes, squash & flowers, aphids on borage 6/21 (Showered 0.13" that night) Sprayed Neem for whiteflies on all peps, toms, cukes, squash & flowers, aphids on borage 6/22 Trimmed bottom leaves from toms 7/7 Sprayed Neem, rained hard 1.82" afterward, 7/9 Sprayed Neem 7/14 Moved Squash and NSO to new enclosure behind garage 7/15 Removed borage and replaced with blue salvia "Big Blue", mexican heather cuphea hyssopifolia "Allyson," and mini-petunias calibrachoa hybrid "MiniFamous Double Purple," along with cloches 7/16 Fed everything, potted extra piquillo, extra Garden Gem; rained 0.41" 7/17 High 90s rest of week. No neem. Shade cloth up over peppers & tomatoes. 1.40" rain. 7/21 Incorporated osmocote in peppers 7/22 Osmocote in tomatoes, squash, NSO, "spike" of Marine Cuisine in all tomatoes and peppers, Marine cuisine on beans, cukes, onions, eggplants, moved Inca outside garde. 0.56" rain overnight. 7/28 No rain since 7/22 7/29 Watered early 7/30 Picked first Tasty Jade cucumber, Black Cherry tomatoes 7/31 Picked first Paul Robeson. Mealy texture. 8/1 "W"s are coloring up. Will pick up something to put peppers on to get them off the ground. 8/3 Sprayed for broad mites with horticultural oil. Then it rained 0.06", just enough to wash off the tops of the leaves. Still tons of whiteflys. Discovered a tunnel something had dug along the house. 8/6 Tunnels are being dug by voles. Lou loaned us a trap. 8/8 Sprayed horticultural oil. Clouds of whiteflies. Edges of tomato leaves are black. Looks like late blight, but isn't effecting new growth, only oldest. 8/12 Watered in AM. Pineapple sage, eggplant, zucchini all wilted. Park Mini Lettuce Greens Blend in oval planter on deck, other greens started 8/14 Pulled pole beans. 8/16 Cut pineapple sage back. 8/19 Trimmed bottom growth off tomatoes. Picked grape, cherry tomatoes.
